# Team and recipients

> Editors can change the brief and subscribers receive it read-only; people are added or removed by replying to a brief.

Newsprint is priced per company, not per seat. Add your whole team.

## Two roles

**Editors** can receive the brief and make changes. Editors can add or remove people, update coverage, adjust format, track new stories, monitor pages. If your team has a comms lead and a few execs, the comms lead is usually the editor.

**Subscribers** receive the brief read-only. They can unsubscribe themselves, provide feedback, and report story quality issues, but they can't change coverage or manage recipients. This is the right role for execs who want the brief but don't want to manage it.

## Adding and removing people

Reply to any brief:

- "Add alex@company.com": adds as subscriber (read-only) by default
- "Add alex@company.com as editor": adds with permission to change the brief
- "Change alex@company.com to editor": changes role
- "Remove jane@company.com": removes entirely
- "Who's on the brief?": lists current recipients and roles

New recipients get a welcome email explaining what Newsprint is and how to unsubscribe.

## Subscribers and privacy

Subscribers see the same brief editors see. If your brief covers sensitive topics (pending deals, internal priorities), be thoughtful about who's on the list. Anyone receiving the brief can forward it.
