What each sells
SAP SuccessFactors
SAP’s HCM suite for global enterprises: core HR, payroll, talent and people analytics, with SAP’s Joule copilot and a growing set of Joule Agents. SAP bought SmartRecruiters (“the Recruiting AI Company”) in September 2025 and says SmartRecruiters will replace the SuccessFactors recruiting module over a 3 to 5 year migration. SAP says SmartRecruiters’ AI companion Winston will begin working alongside Joule later in 2026. [4]
Workday
“The Enterprise AI Platform for HR, Finance, and IT.” Workday sells HCM, payroll and finance suites to large employers. In hiring it now stacks three layers: Workday Recruiting (ATS), HiredScore (AI grading and talent rediscovery, bought 2024) and Paradox (conversational candidate agent for frontline hiring, bought October 2025).
